As someone who has eagerly awaited each new season of Panchayat like a farmer waiting for the monsoons, I can’t contain my excitement about the upcoming fourth season! The show has been a beacon of light in my otherwise mundane life, and it feels like reuniting with old friends every time a new episode drops.
The beloved TV series, Panchayat, came back for a third season this year. The previous season, which took place in Phulera, was particularly well-received and even sparked a wave of memes across the internet. Though fans have been eagerly waiting for its fourth season, it’s been announced that production will start on October 25, 2024.
According to a source privy to the production details, Bollywood Hungama reports that the fourth season of “Panchayat” is slated to commence filming on October 25. The series plans to bring back its beloved characters portrayed by Jitendra Kumar (Abhishek Tripathi/Sachiv ji), Raghubir Yadav (Brij Bhushan Dubey/Pradhan Pati), Neena Gupta (Manju Devi), Faisal Malik (Prahlad), Chandan Roy (Vikas Shukla), Sanvikaa(Rinki), Durgesh Kumar(Bhushan), Ashok Pathak(Binod), Sunita Rajwar (Kranti Devi) and Pankaj Jha, with the latter set to play a significant role in the upcoming season.
Beyond what’s already mentioned, Swanand Kirkire, who made an appearance as an MP in a single scene during Season 3, is rumored to play a significant part this season as well.
As a devoted admirer, I understand the immense anticipation surrounding the Panchayat series. This unique web show has captured the interest of viewers from all walks of life due to its universal appeal. Each season thus far has met our expectations and I can confirm that the creators have put in tremendous effort into crafting the script for Season 4, with the aim of delighting fans even more.
Significantly, this year in August, the director of Panchayat, Deepak Kumar Mishra shared with PTI that there will be at least two additional seasons for the hit comedy-drama series, and they have started filming the fourth episode.
So far, we’ve been thinking about making Seasons 4 and 5. We have a definite idea for Season 4, and our plans for Season 5 are broader,” he continued.
The initial season of Panchayat debuted on April 3, 2020, and its sequel followed after a two-year break, appearing on May 20, 2022. Similarly, Season 3 was launched with another two-year delay. It will be intriguing to observe if future episodes continue this pattern.
