Biden expressed that the world has sadly lost an exceptional leader, diplomat, and compassionate individual, and moreover, he lamented the loss of a cherished friend.

He gave instances of Carter’s compassionate nature, his clear moral values, his efforts towards eliminating diseases, establishing peace, advancing civil and human rights, ensuring fair elections, providing shelter to the homeless, and advocating for those in need, as models for others to follow.
