In this revealing interview with GQ India, he shed light on the transformative fitness journey of the illustrious actor John Abraham.

He said that he has been working with John for almost 10 years. Before they started training together, the actor used to only practice weight training. The fitness expert added that the Pathaan actor didn’t have much experience with mobility and flexibility and during action sequences, he faced the threat of injuries and dislocations due to sudden movements. After this, they started adding mobility, conditioning, and flexibility workouts to his routine.

Speaking further about John Abraham’s workout routine, Vinod explained that they consistently train 3 to 4 times a week, year-round, for around an hour and a half. Their workouts incorporate a variety of exercises such as weight training, functional training, mobility work, agility drills, speed training, and endurance routines. When a new movie is approaching, their preparation intensifies, lasting for about three months to ensure John is ready for the specific role demands, whether it be a muscular or lean physique, as seen in his films.

Each day, I rise as early as 4:30 am, a habit that allows me to dive into script reading and kickstart my workout routine without delay. My regimen encompasses various activities such as cycling, running, strength training with dumbbells, ab workouts like crunches, leg raises, squats, and lunges. These practices help me maintain the balance and vitality that I strive for in life.

John Abraham’s diet 

John Abraham’s eating habits are truly inspiring. During his conversation with Shilpa on the show, he shared that over time, he has swapped out dairy products in his meals. Now, he avoids consuming butter, milk, cheese, and eggs as well. This change, according to him, is a matter of principle.

“You have to be goal-oriented,” he addressed those people who complain about the discipline required to lose weight. “Only when you have goals can you reach your targets. If you don’t have a goal, that’s the first obstacle in the path to your success,” Abraham added. 

The actor explained that maintaining fitness is similar to having a tripod, requiring balanced elements of nutritious meals, regular exercise, and quality sleep. If any component is neglected, the entire structure may collapse. Furthermore, he advocated for a plant-based diet, likening it to electric vehicles as he believes it represents the future.

In an interview with Times of India, esteemed Food Physiotherapist Dr. Prashant Mistry disclosed the diet secrets that I, John, follow diligently. According to him, I consume between 200 to 250 grams of protein daily to fulfill my nutritional requirements. To maintain my energy levels, I ingest a total of 4000 calories per day. My mornings start with a cup of coffee, accompanied by multigrain bread and five egg whites, or a 100-gram serving of fruit. For lunch, I opt for either 100 grams of oats or muesli, paired with five egg whites, or a protein shake made using one scoop of protein powder. As an afternoon snack, I indulge in a variety of fresh fruits.

The actor has a strong affection for home-cooked meals and particularly enjoys vegetables, yogurt, salads, and the like. He also frequently consumes grains such as millet or sorghum, along with gluten-free flatbreads. John steers clear of greasy and fried foods to preserve his physique.

For over two decades now, I, a dedicated follower, have abstained from consuming aerated beverages, as shared by John in one of his video interviews. Maintaining an alcohol-free, sugar-free, and nicotine-free lifestyle seems to be among the key factors contributing to John’s impressive physique.

John Abraham’s fitness tips 

In an interview with Hindustan Times back in 2011, John offered some guidance for fitness enthusiasts. He recommended that individuals should undergo a comprehensive health check-up before starting any workout routine, which includes assessing their metabolism.
