John Mulaney seems less than thrilled over another potential slight concerning Phish in 2025. Notably, the band made an appearance on his Netflix show, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, impersonating actors from Seinfeld (you read that right). As it turns out, Mulaney shares a personal connection with Phish, which might influence his opinion about their Rock Hall induction.

Absolutely, he’s entitled to his viewpoint. Everyone is free to express their thoughts on which musical artists deserve a spot in the hall of fame. It seems reasonable that those inducted would possess some exceptional qualities, and given Phish’s impressive touring skills, they might be a strong contender for inclusion. However, it should be noted that the Seinfeld sketch wasn’t particularly impressive.

It seems that you might have mistakenly believed Louie Mulaney recently developed a fondness for Phish, but the truth is he’s been an ardent fan for close to three decades. In fact, at 42 years old, this comedian has been following the band since its inception. What’s surprising to him is that Phish hasn’t yet made it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Indeed, Phish could potentially be inducted into the Rock Hall next year as well. While they secured the fan vote with ease, it’s the opinions of critics and record executives that carry more weight in the decision-making process. If Mulaney has his way, a rectification should be made promptly.
