Jon Bernthal’s Surprising Role in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Audition Revealed!

In a somewhat different context, The Punisher has collaborated on occasion, but his real-life partnership with Jon Bernthal is a far more significant alliance, as the latter has recently shared.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bernthal playfully boasted that he deserved some “slight” recognition for Tom Holland landing the Spider-Man role. Spider-Man made his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and has since become a major star within the MCU, having completed a trilogy of films.

During their collaboration on the film “Pilgrimage”, Bernthal observed Holland’s audition tape for Spider-Man and provided feedback. He suggested, “Tom, perhaps you could leap up the wall and perform a double backflip before beginning the scene.” Tom responded with curiosity, “Do you think I should try that? Isn’t it too extravagant?” To which Bernthal replied, “I don’t believe any of the other actors could manage that.

As my friend suggested, I gave it my all – and it paid off, I landed the role of Spider-Man! Tom was thrilled because he knew just how brilliantly I could portray this iconic character. I mean, he saw the determination and conviction in me. It was truly inspiring. He shared with Jimmy Kimmel that it was so heartwarming to see me so focused and convinced. “He would say something like ‘I am Spider-Man,'” Tom recalled. “He really believed he had a shot at this role, and I was like, ‘There are probably a lot of talented people vying for the same part. But hey, let’s give it our best shot!'” It all worked out in the end, and Jimmy declared that I am now known as the “best Spider-Man ever.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Will Present A New Challenge For Spidey

In the concluding moments of the latest Spider-Man film, “No Way Home”, everyone seemed to have erased memories about Peter Parker’s existence. His close friend Ned found himself puzzled about who he was, and Aunt May, his cherished relative, had tragically fallen victim to the Green Goblin. However, even though life had hit him at an all-time low, he persisted in embodying the superhero role.

The upcoming “Spider-Man: A Fresh Start” will expand on the storyline left open by “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” As of now, it’s uncertain whether Zendaya’s MJ character will make an appearance in the film, although many believe it would be a missed opportunity not to feature her. The roster for the movie is currently being finalized. It has been confirmed that Sadie Sink will take on a yet-to-be-revealed role in the film, and fans have speculated that she could potentially play Jean Grey.

Bernthal’s Punisher is unlikely to ever show up in a Spider-Man movie… but you never know.
