‘JonBenet Ramsey’ Series at Paramount+ Finds Its Title Character

As a seasoned gamer with a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for well-crafted narratives, I must say that the casting for this JonBenét Ramsey limited series on Paramount+ is nothing short of exceptional. The choice of Emily Mitchell to play JonBenét, coupled with the addition of Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, and Owen Teague, has certainly piqued my interest.


The limited series on Paramount+ that revolves around the murder of JonBenét Ramsey features the central character as a young girl.

Emily Mitchell has been chosen to portray JonBenét in an upcoming drama series. Alongside her, Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, and Owen Teague have also been enlisted for the project. The series is being produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, who are also behind the hit show “Yellowstone”. Titled “JonBenét Ramsey” (working title), the series delves into the life of the Ramsey family, both before and after the murder of 6-year-old JonBenét on Christmas Day in 1996, a case that remains unsolved to this day.

Four additional actors are added to the cast, joining Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen who portray JonBenét Ramsey’s parents, Patsy and John Ramsey. Shea Whigham takes on the role of District Attorney Alex Hunter, while Will Patton plays Lou Smit, a retired detective brought in to assist with the investigation.

In the show “Tulsa King,” Hedlund takes on the role of Steve Thomas, an experienced detective who joins the investigation team. Meanwhile, in “Star Trek: Picard,” Pill portrays Linda Arndt, a police officer from Boulder, Colorado, who, together with her partner, responded to the Ramsey home when JonBenét was reported missing. Lastly, Teague is cast as Jeff Shapiro, a journalist working for a tabloid newspaper in “It.

Harrison Query and Tommy Wallach, along with Richard LaGravenese (known for ‘Behind the Candelabra’), are penning the series; LaGravenese will also be in charge as showrunner. They will serve as executive producers alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, and David Hutkin from 101 Studios, McCarthy, and Anne Sewitsky, who is directing four out of the total eight episodes.

Mitchell is represented by Jackie Warden at Ritter Talent Agency in Toronto, while Hedlund is managed by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Sloane Offer, and The Initiative Group; Pill is represented by The Burstein Company and CAA, and Teague is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen.
