As a seasoned gamer who has spent countless hours navigating through virtual worlds and real-life scenarios, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent events surrounding Blake Lively and journalist Kjersti Flaa. The interview from 2016, which has resurfaced, paints a picture of an interaction that was less than ideal for both parties involved.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that while Blake Lively’s latest film, “It Ends With Us,” is making waves at the box office, it seems her personal reputation is taking a hit. The spotlight has shifted towards Blake following the resurfacing and viral spread of an interview she gave years ago. Now, the interviewer who conducted that conversation is breaking their silence on the matter.
In 2016, I had the privilege of chatting with Blake Lively and Parker Posey for the film “Cafe Society”. The interview, just recently shared, features a couple of awkward exchanges – one where Lively seemed uncomfortable receiving pregnancy congratulations, and another where she expressed displeasure about questions regarding the movie’s costumes.
Eight years after posting the interview, I’ve been asked numerous questions about my decision to do so at this time. The reason for this is simple: I was contacted by another journalist who shared a story remarkably similar to this one, and we began discussing our experiences. As we talked, I realized that such behavior is unacceptable and needed to be addressed publicly. This is why I decided to speak up again, after a delay due to my personal journey to overcome the experience.
It’s not certain whether the person being discussed in the conversation had an encounter with Blake Lively or another famous figure. There have been situations where interviewees have expressed dissatisfaction towards interviewers due to questions being perceived as too personal, but in this scenario, many seem to believe that Flaa acted appropriately.
In her own words, Flaa found the interview challenging, but as the title of the shared clip suggests, it left her considering giving up her job. However, she’s grateful for the encouraging remarks she’s received since the clip became popular online. Notably, Flaa took a moment to express her gratitude towards actress Kristen Stewart, whom she interviewed for Cafe Society following Lively. She wanted to acknowledge that the interview went more smoothly due to Stewart’s help.
According to Flaa, the timing of this interview’s release, happening amidst whispers of conflict on the set of “It Ends With Us“, was purely coincidental. She claimed she hadn’t heard about these stories when she published the video. Although specific details are scarce, it’s being circulated that there were disagreements between lead actress Blake Lively and producer Jason Baldoni on set. Initially, it seemed like most of the accusations were directed towards the director, but later, allegations started to be levied against Lively as well.
