Judas Priest skips Black Sabbath’s final farewell (fans finally get real story)

It seems more organization or foresight was required. Regrettably, the circumstances might have been unavoidable, but music enthusiasts will undoubtedly feel the absence. Possibly, an online concert could be arranged, but it doesn’t quite capture the authenticity.

The problem here is that Judas Priest won’t perform at Black Sabbath’s grand farewell concert in Birmingham, England on July 5th. Many other significant bands are scheduled to play, but unfortunately, Rob Halford and his bandmates from Judas Priest will not be among them. Instead, they have another crucial engagement somewhere else, so they won’t be joining Ozzy Osbourne and the rest of their group for this event.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t contain my excitement! It turns out that Judas Priest will be rocking the stage at the 60th anniversary event for the Scorpions in Hannover, Germany on July 5. Seems like the organizers might not always coordinate their schedules perfectly with other bands, but honestly, who cares? What matters is the epic concert experience that awaits us!

Judas Priest has a good excuse for missing Black Sabbath’s farewell show

However, music enthusiasts face a dilemma as both The Scorpions and Judas Priest have confirmed they won’t reschedule their July 5th performance to attend Black Sabbath’s event, and vice versa. In other words, you can expect neither band to make an appearance at the other’s concert on that day.

As per Halford’s latest statement to Metal Hammer, Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife, extended an invitation for Judas Priest to fly from Hannover to Birmingham, with a promise to return them later, in the hope that they could join Black Sabbath’s show. Although Halford was keen, he had reservations about managing the travel arrangements, so he and his band ultimately declined the offer.

Halford stated that during one of our final performances, Ossy Hoppe approached him and proposed, “Would you consider participating in something truly extraordinary and significant? I’m organizing the Scorpions for their 60th anniversary concert, right in their hometown. Would you collaborate with the band?” To which Halford responded enthusiastically, “Absolutely! We have no prior commitments, so it’s all set.

At that moment, Halford was unaware of Black Sabbath’s farewell performance. He felt disheartened about missing the concert, but couldn’t find a way out of his commitment. Priest had guaranteed their attendance at the Scorpions gig. Nevertheless, having such heavy metal concerts scheduled on the same day required more thoughtful organization from the event organizers.

Halford went on to explain, “I received a call (from Sharon Osbourne) saying, ‘Robbie, despite your commitment with Scorpions, would you think about joining Ozzy and the band for something? Ozzy’s really looking forward to it… However, there’s a term called ‘technical issues,’ where things might not go as planned or weather conditions during that season could cause complications. I was truly disappointed.

This summer, if you’re planning to visit the UK and Europe for some music, you face an important choice. Should you opt for Black Sabbath, or consider Judas Priest/Scorpions instead? To aid your decision, be aware that the Black Sabbath concert will feature Metallica, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Alice in Chains, Pantera, and several other big names. However, it’s important to note that tickets for this event have already been sold out.

Hopefully, this version maintains the original meaning while being more natural and easy to read.
