McDonald was often considered one of the most exceptional comedians in history, known for his illustrious career that spanned across various comedy genres. He excelled as a stand-up comic, contributed to the scriptwriting for shows like “Roseanne” and “The Dennis Miller Show,” and enjoyed a five-season tenure as both a writer and cast member on the renowned sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live” (SNL). Additionally, he starred in his own sitcom, named “The Norm Show,” hosted talk shows, lent his voice to various projects, and became a recognizable figure for many over the years.

After Macdonald’s passing, his last Netflix project, titled Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special, was released and received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He was involved in writing the stand-up special, co-directed it, and served as an executive producer. The 50-minute show included unseen material and a discussion about his time in the limelight, making it a touching goodbye to this renowned comedian. Critics and fans both praised the show, giving it a rare perfect score of 100% from critics and 85% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
