As a diehard fan who’s been following Juice WRLD since his early days, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions with the release of “The Pre-Party” – it’s like getting a piece of him back, albeit posthumously. The 999 reference is just the cherry on top, reminding me of his unique and memorable style.
Juice WRLD’s team has released two posthumous songs by the rapper, collectively known as a two-pack called “The Pre-Party“. The new tracks are titled “World Tour (Aquafina)” and “Lightyears”, with the latter featuring contributions from Young Thug.
9am sharp this September 9th, the long-awaited EP dropped, echoing Juice’s beloved 999 code. Back in 2018, he tantalized us with “World Tour (Aquafina)” during an Instagram Live session, and ever since, we, his fans, have been eagerly awaiting a studio release.
From my perspective as a die-hard fan, “Lightyears” stands as the most recent addition to the thrilling collection of collaborations between Thugger and Juice, such as “Bad Boy” and the iconic “Mannequin Challenge”. My man Nick Mira, a longtime friend and collaborator of Juice, was behind the beat production of this track. In the past, he’s been instrumental in hits like “Lucid Dreams”, “Bandit” and “Smile”.
After featuring on Ski Mask the Slump God’s “Wake Up!” during the summer and the posthumous release of his collaboration with Eminem and benny blanco titled “Lace It” in December, the two-pack is now being released.
