On a recent interview, Julia Stiles reflected on her appearance on Saturday Night Live in 2023. She mentioned that the entire skit was put together so swiftly that she had a tough time arranging childcare to be able to participate.
Stiles mentioned during a chat on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ that they reached out to him on the Friday prior to the Saturday event. He was then in a rush to locate a caretaker for his children, which kept him busy till late at night.”
“Stiles explained during his appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ that he received a call on the Friday preceding the Saturday performance. This left him hurriedly seeking someone to look after his kids until well into the night.
At the time, the 10 Things I Hate About You star had recently welcomed her third child.
During a part of “Weekend Update” on Saturday Night Live (SNL), Stiles and cast member Chloe Fineman shared the screen. They recreated and expanded upon the Juilliard audition scene from the 2001 movie Save the Last Dance. Interestingly, Stiles’ previous encounter with this show was in March 2001, when she hosted it just two months after Save the Last Dance had been released.
The actress expressed her excitement about the chance at hand. “I wasn’t aware of the specific details of the performance until, as far as I can recall, possibly on Saturday morning,” she went on. “However, I found it incredibly intriguing. I was eager to participate. It was a delightful experience.
In December 2023, an episode aired featuring Adam Driver as the host and Olivia Rodrigo as the musical guest. This segment was presented by Fineman as his recommendation for “Weekend Update” hosts, Colin Jost and Michael Che, during the holiday season.
Fineman mentioned that an ideal present for this season is the dance performed by Julia Stiles in the closing scene of the 2001 film ‘Save the Last Dance.’ He made this statement prior to her appearance.
