More than a week after Julian McMahon‘s death, his precise cause of death has now been revealed.

It was previously reported that McMahon passed away on July 2 in Clearwater, Florida, following a confidential struggle with cancer. He was 56 years old. However, more information has since emerged, revealing that the cause of his death was lung metastasis due to advanced head and neck cancer, as detailed in a Cremation Approval Summary Report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office in Florida, which multiple outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, have accessed.

I want to inform everyone that my dearly loved husband, Julian McMahon, passed away peacefully this week after fighting courageously against cancer. Julian cherished life, his family, friends, work, and fans. He always aimed to bring happiness to as many people as possible. During this difficult time, we ask for understanding to let our family grieve in private. We also hope that those whom Julian brought joy continue to find it in their lives. We are thankful for the memories.

After hearing the sad news about his passing, I, too, joined many of his former co-stars in expressing my condolences on social media. Names like Ioan Gruffudd and Ioan Gruffudd (from Fantastic Four), Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Rose McGowan (Charmed) were among those who shared their sentiments, as well as others.
