Jurassic World: Rebirth to Unveil Lost Jurassic Park Scene

Back in 1993, “Jurassic Park” breathed life into dinosaurs on the silver screen like never before – yet, they were seldom seen. The original film boasted roughly fifteen minutes of dino action, primarily used in key scenes such as the awe-inspiring T-Rex rampage. Now, the upcoming movie is delving back into Michael Crichton’s seminal novel to bring one of his overlooked scenes to life on screen – an exciting prospect indeed!

Crichton was recognized for weaving real-world science and imaginative tales about flawed genetics and technology, which produced works like “Westworld,” “Congo,” undeniably “Jurassic Park” and “The Lost World.” Although the fundamental plot of these novels served as the foundation for the 1993 film and its 1997 sequel, there were certain scenes that didn’t align with the runtime or Steven Spielberg’s desired narrative (for example, the on-screen demise of John Hammond differed from the books).

As a follower, I’m thrilled to share that David Koepp, the screenwriter behind Jurassic Park and The Lost World, has recently disclosed some exciting news. One significant sequence not previously adapted from Michael Crichton’s original story will be incorporated into Jurassic World: Rebirth, potentially becoming one of its most memorable moments. He revealed this to Variety.

To refresh my memory and find inspiration, I re-read the two books. Some elements from these stories were appealing to us for our original movie, but there wasn’t enough space to include them at that time. Now, we can utilize those ideas! Revisiting the mindset after 30 years, it’s still enjoyable – yes, dinosaurs remain fascinating!

‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ Could Feature Fan-Favorite Dino Return

Koepp didn’t specify which specific Jurassic Park scene will appear in the upcoming movie, but there’s one that has been noticeably missing from the series thus far – the thrilling sequence where Dr. Alan Grant and children Lexi and Tim are pursued by dilophosaurs and a T-Rex while fleeing on a raft down a river. This could very well be the scene Koepp is referring to.

Indeed, the cast for this movie will undergo alterations, featuring not just mature characters like Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, but also some child actors as well. This seems to imply that the long-awaited river raft scene, initially introduced in Crichton’s novel more than two decades ago, may finally be included in the franchise.

It’s likely that we’ll get a sneak peek of “Jurassic World: Rebirth” during this year’s Super Bowl, as it’s one of the most anticipated summer blockbusters. With Universal eager to share their prehistoric tale, it’s unlikely they’ll keep it hidden for long. Recent image releases often signal that a full preview isn’t far off. While “Jurassic World: Dominion” may have left some divided, the return of key creators from the original “Jurassic Park” hints that this new film could revive the franchise and prevent its potential demise.
