According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Bieber is diligently working on a new album and plans to travel overseas for creative inspiration. It appears the pop sensation is nearing completion of this project, marking his first since 2021’s “Justice.” The source adds that he intends to unwind in a Nordic nation alongside several musical partners to create an enjoyable atmosphere.
Recently, Bieber has been organizing “music get-togethers” at his Los Angeles residence, inviting guests like his long-term DJ Tay James, musical director HARV, collaborator Carter Lang from SZA’s team, and Australian artist Eddie Benjamin. In addition to these established figures, Bieber has also sought the help of emerging talents such as U.K. singer-songwriter Sekou and producer Dylan Wiggins (known for Kali Uchis’ “I Wish You Roses” and The Weeknd’s “Die For You”). He discovered these lesser-known artists through social media and contacted them via direct messages.
According to a source, Justin appears to be very cheerful.” The source adds that it’s typical for the musician to take trips to places like Aspen, which he’s visited multiple times, and these destinations might be cold.
A rep for Bieber declined comment.
Previously, THR had shared that Bieber’s recording agreement includes four more albums through label collaborator Def Jam Records, a division of Universal Music Group. Since his debut in 2009, Bieber has put out six complete albums and featured on numerous chart-topping hits. On Spotify, an impressive 17 of his songs or those he’s been a part of have surpassed a billion streams. The Billboard Hot 100 has seen eight No. 1 singles from him and 26 top ten entries. As per the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Bieber has sold around 24 million albums in the U.S.
It’s been expressed that Def Jam is eagerly anticipating a fresh Bieber album, given the high demand for his comeback. However, sources claim that the release might be delayed due to complications arising from the dissolution of his business partnership with Scooter Braun. The THR feature published on April 16 sheds light on how this disagreement has led Bieber to embark on a new phase in his career, with a tight-knit team backing him as he seeks to forge his own path and steer his journey independently.
