On Friday night at SoFi Stadium (May 23), fans got a delightful surprise when SZA introduced Justin Bieber as her special guest. The second L.A. stop of Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour was where this unexpected collaboration took place, with Bieber and SZA performing their version of “Snooze.” This impromptu appearance sent shockwaves through the crowd of tens of thousands, and hearing him perform undeniably electrified the atmosphere.
Justin Bieber performed in a complete black ensemble, including a Balenciaga coat. He alternated singing the chorus with SZA, and then he playfully kissed her hand several times – perhaps a bit excessively? The duo continued to dance harmoniously for the remainder of the song.

In 2023, the duo significantly teamed up to create an acoustic rendition of a song. This time, they were joined by Bieber, Young Mazino, Woody McClain, and Benny Blanco. All five of them featured in the music video for that year.
The most recent instance where Bieber played for a large stadium audience took place at Coachella in 2024, as he unexpectedly joined forces with Tems and Wizkid on stage to perform their “Essence” remix collaboration.
Since postponing his Justice World Tour before it was supposed to conclude, Justin Bieber’s mental well-being has raised questions among the general public. More recently, it has been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that the popular musician is also grappling with financial stress due, in part, to a hiatus in his solo music career.
On Wednesday evening during my grand night at the Los Angeles stop of the Grand National Tour, it was none other than the incredible SZA who invited Lizzo to take the stage as our surprise act. Together they delivered a breathtaking performance of their remixed hit track, “Special.” What an unforgettable moment!
The Grand National Tour kicked off on April 19 in Minneapolis. On the last leg of their tour, Kendrick and SZA will take the stage at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA on Saturday night, before moving onto Glendale, AZ on May 27.
