Justin Hartley Had A Fun Take On Working With His Wife On Tracker, And Revealed When We’ll See Her On Season 2

As a long-time gamer who’s been through countless virtual worlds and storylines, I must admit that watching real-life couples sharing screen time is always a delightful twist. The latest addition to this charming trend is Justin Hartley and his wife Sofia Pernas on CBS’ Tracker.

In its debut season on CBS, Tracker boasted several notable guest stars, including Jensen Ackles as Colter Shaw’s brother Russell and Jennifer Morrison reuniting with fans of This Is Us. However, one casting choice had a personal impact for Justin Hartley, as his real-life wife Sofia Pernas made an appearance in one episode as fellow tracker Billie. The actor shared some amusing insights into how he convinced Pernas to join the show and hinted at her potential future appearances now that Season 2 is set for a 2024 TV schedule.

Justin Hartley didn’t need to ask for help to get Sofia Pernas involved as his adversary in the role of a treasure hunter for “Lexington” (available on Hulu or Paramount+, two popular streaming platforms). During an interview on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? (reported by US Weekly), he mentioned that being married to an actress has its benefits.

I reside with her, so she’s essentially part of my household. We don’t need a phone conversation for this; it’s a daily routine. It’s more like, ‘Hey, sweetheart, let’s head to work together.’ Working with someone you care about makes the journey enjoyable.

It’s delightful to think about how enjoyable it must be to have your partner share your passion and spend the entire day together on set. In fact, when actors genuinely appreciate each other outside of work, their bond often translates into a tangible chemistry that audiences can sense even while watching them on screen.

As a devoted gamer, I can’t hide my excitement when I hear that the collaboration in ‘Tracker’ didn’t end after just one episode. It looks like Sofia Pernas is coming back for Season 2, and it appears she’ll be joining us sooner than we might anticipate. Justin Hartley shared this tidbit:

“She’s due to appear next week, specifically on October 27. She’s a recurring figure. It’s fantastic. It’s wonderful to have her. She brings a spark and we consistently land the most exceptional guest stars on our program.

Actress Sofia Pernas, who is set to appear in the upcoming “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” movie later in 2024, will reprise her role in the episode titled “Bloodlines.” As reported by Futon Critic, this installment will bring back characters Colter Shaw and Billie Matalon as they join forces when a promising high school baseball player mysteriously disappears. Furthermore, it has been hinted by Justin Hartley that Billie’s character may make several appearances throughout the current season.

In a thrilling turn of events, Jensen Ackles has reappeared for Season 2 on October 20th, while Jennifer Morrison prepares to take the director’s chair for at least one episode in this season – mimicking the directorial role Jon Huertas from their ‘This Is Us’ series assumed during its initial run. Following the shocking revelation Lizzy made in Season 1 finale, Justin Hartley believes her character will make a comeback too.

It’s possible that Melissa Roxburgh won’t play Colter’s sister Dory right away, as Justin Hartley mentioned that filming for “The Haunting Party,” airing on NBC in 2025, concludes before the start of “Tracker.” Therefore, she could potentially appear in “Tracker’s” second season later on.

Don’t miss Sofia Pernas joining forces once again with her actual spouse on “Tracker,” airing at 8:30 p.m. this coming Sunday, October 27th on CBS right after “60 Minutes.” If you can’t catch it live, you can stream the episode the following day by subscribing to Paramount+.
