As a lifestyle expert, I find the journey of Kabir Bedi to be nothing short of captivating and insightful. His ability to navigate complex relationships with grace and resilience is truly commendable. From his open marriage with Protima Bedi, to his subsequent marriages and family expansion, it’s evident that he has learned from each experience, growing wiser with every step.
Actor Kabir Bedi, famously seen in Khoon Bhari Maang, Main Hoon Na, and Yalgaar, is currently wedded to Parveen Dusanj. His previous marriage was with Odissi dancer Protima Bedi. Kabir has disclosed that they opted for an open marriage to ensure their unity in raising their children, Pooja and Siddharth Bedi, while retaining the liberty to pursue other romantic connections.
During a recent chat with Digital Commentary, Kabir pondered over his past romantic encounters, admitting that it’s only human to harbor regrets when reminiscing and questioning if there were alternative paths to take.
“Given our circumstances, we thought it was best for us to stay together because of the kids. If it turned out that both of us were inclined towards extramarital affairs, having an open marriage seemed like the most practical solution.
Yet, he acknowledged that the setup ultimately didn’t pan out, proving to be a tough ordeal instead.
Kabir expressed that even though they were apart, he continued to play an active role in his children’s lives. Working and residing in the US at that time, his kids would come visit him during summer and winter holidays. He underscored the fact that after their divorce, he assumed all his responsibilities, ensuring a home for Protima and supporting her financially.
Additionally, he emphasized that their long-lasting friendship held significant value for their kids, demonstrating to them that although their parents might not remain a couple, they would always be present in their lives.
Sadly, Protima Bedi lost her life in 1998 at the age of 49. Her demise occurred during a pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar in the majestic Himalayas, where she was unfortunately caught in a landslide.
Following his initial wedding, Kabir Bedi wed British fashion designer Susan Humphreys and together they had a son named Adam Bedi. Later, he tied the knot with TV host Nikki Bedi. At the age of 70, Kabir exchanged vows with Parveen Dusanj, who is 29 years his junior.
In his professional life, Kabir Bedi recently made an appearance in the 2023 Telugu movie “Shaakuntalam.” This film featured him alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Dev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla.
