In a recent chat with News 24, Ameesha Patel expressed her appreciation as two movies from her acting career, including Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, have gained cult status. She recalled that when the movie was released in 2000, there were no reels or social media platforms, but the film’s popularity still managed to captivate fans, who started imitating their favorite characters from the movie.

Initially, they were thrilled about the widespread acclaim, but unforeseen challenges soon emerged. As Patel disclosed, both Hrithik and I encountered marriage proposals from fans. They would wed our images in temples. I received letters penned with blood, expressing their ardor. It was quite terrifying. I had stalkers… people persistently trailing us.

Initially, having bodyguards wasn’t common among actors, but due to some overzealous fans, it became necessary for them to hire an entourage early in their film careers. The actress from Gadar found it challenging to adapt to her newfound popularity as she could no longer visit restaurants or salons freely as she once did before.

As a fangirl bursting with admiration, I’ve always been captivated by her stunning performances on the silver screen. Despite basking in the glory of her achievements, she openly confessed that the relentless limelight could be overpowering at times. She revealed that her life had become a dance, constantly mindful of every move, and for the past 25 years, there were moments when I yearned for a more tranquil existence. But the adoration showered upon her was incomparable to anything else.
