As someone who’s spent countless hours immersed in the world of TV and pop culture, I can confidently say that ABC’s High Potential has quickly become one of my favorite new series, largely due to Kaitlin Olson’s outstanding performance as Morgan Gillory. It’s not just about ratings or the 18-49 demographic for me – it’s about the doggie Halloween costumes!
It’s clear that ABC’s “High Potential” is one of the most entertaining new series gracing our TV screens in 2024, setting itself apart from the typical procedurals common on broadcast networks. This is largely due to Kaitlin Olson’s captivating performance as Morgan Gillory, a comedy queen who truly shines in every scene. Many share my admiration for this dramedy, as it has already garnered impressive ratings. However, the most telling indicator of its success might just be the sight of dogs dressed as Morgan for Halloween!
Sure, viewership totals are important, and everybody wants to score as high as possible when it comes to the 18-49 age demographic. But come on. We all know the real money and success is inherently tied to doggie Halloween costumes. And nobody is out there looking more money during Halloween week than High Potential hair stylist Rick Caroto’s adorable pop Sadie, whose Morgan-centric looks earned celebratory applause from the star herself via Stories on her Instagram profile, as seen below:
As a fan, I must admit that the hair color might not be spot-on perfect, and it seems a bit unusual that the dog character, Sadie, appears to have more legs than Kaitlin Olson’s character Morgan (both in the show and real life). However, if little Sadie appeared on my TV screen nestled next to Daniel Sunjata’s Det. Karadec in an interrogation room, I might not even bat an eye until “Morgan” tried to speak.
Luckily for anyone who can’t get enough of animals in costumes that are hyper-specific pop culture nods, the High Potential stylist shared another picture on Instagram that are just as doggone adorable. The face in the other pic is very much on par with the way Morgan looks at other people who are very clearly not on her level, and make no effort to be. I don’t really want to know what it’s like for a dog to make me feel that way.
Well, you know what? It’s intriguing to imagine the entire family dressed as dogs, but it seems wise to let the show run for multiple seasons first, rather than jumping ahead to such extensive wishes. Mind you, I don’t mean they have to be large breeds in dog costumes…
If we were to imagine Kaitlin Olson standing next to Taran Killam, both in character costumes, specifically Morgan for Taran, ABC posted an entertaining meme that hints at a potential collaboration. This fun post acts as a promising sign, yet it’s devoid of any Spirit Halloween-style advertising.

Despite Morgan’s impressive ability to quickly absorb new information, retain it vividly like a photograph, and mentally catalog spaces, her fashion choices are surprisingly unconventional and seem to lack careful planning. Yet, Olson manages to pull off these unusual outfits effortlessly, making them appear logical and well-thought-out.
Regardless of whether you’re all dressed up or channeling a character from Deep Space Nine for Halloween, High Potential is broadcast every Tuesday evening at 10:00 p.m. ET on ABC. You can catch up on episodes the following day by subscribing to Hulu and streaming them.
