Kang Haoxian To Present 'In Motion' Solo Exhibition at WOAW Gallery in Hong Kong

As a gamer with a keen eye for art and a heart full of nostalgia for my childhood days spent playing racing games, the upcoming exhibition by Kang Haoxian, titled “In Motion,” piques my interest immensely!

This week, the modern Chinese artist, Kang Haoxian is set to debut his individual showcase titled “In Motion” at the WOAW Gallery located in Hong Kong.

Kang’s renowned for his big paintings on canvas, which mix pop culture themes with a touch of magical realism, influenced by mythology and his own travels. In his work titled “In Motion“, he explores human feelings and aspirations, and portrays personal moments – notably car tires in motion.

From Kang’s perspective, tires have consistently been a crucial element in contemporary life, acting as the physical propulsion for humans daily. Unlike some perspectives that merely portray luxury car tires in a two-dimensional way, this artist delves into urban scenes born from vehicles in artworks such as “Brave Action,” “Live Free or Die,” and “I Enjoy My Own Tranquility.” As WOAW Gallery describes, the world, according to this artist, is like a massive garage filled not only with ‘cars’ but also a multitude of intricate human emotions.

Kang Haoxian’s exhibit titled “In Motion” will be accessible at WOAW Gallery‘s Hong Kong location this coming weekend, specifically on August 31. Here are some sneak peeks of the artwork involved. The exhibition is set to continue through October 14.
