In the most recent installment of Game Changers, Karan Johar discussed how his films have found success beyond our borders. When inquired about this achievement, the filmmaker-producer attributed it primarily to Shah Rukh Khan. Expanding on his statement, the director of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna acknowledged that it was an opportunity he embraced thanks to Shah Rukh Khan.
KJo went on to explain that the affection and admiration he and his films have received internationally is largely due to Shah Rukh Khan, the lead actor in many of his movies. This started with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, followed by Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Devdas, and more. The filmmaker referred to these films as the foundations, implying that for people outside India, Bollywood and its movies are synonymous with Shah Rukh Khan.
In simpler terms, Johar said, “He’s not a star; he’s an emotion, something everyone feels deeply. When he appears on the big screen, it’s cause for worldwide celebration.” He went on to say that Shah Rukh Khan has been instrumental in their success and that Aditya Chopra, like SRK, is destined for greatness and will always be loyal to them.
Currently, on the professional side of things, Karan Johar is jointly producing the upcoming romantic drama film titled Dhadak 2 under his production house, Dharma Productions. The movie is penned and directed by Shazia Iqbal with Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi in significant roles.
Regarding Shah Rukh Khan, there’s plenty of anticipation among his followers for his role in the action-packed film titled “King.” Notably, this is going to be the first on-screen appearance by his daughter, Suhana Khan, who will make her cinematic debut through this movie.
