This means it has outshone hit shows like Stranger Things Season 3 and Bridgerton Season 2 in terms of viewership.

17 days since its premiere, the newly launched series has garnered a phenomenal 96.7 million views. This impressive feat pushes Stranger Things Season 3 down to the 10th spot with 94.8 million views, while Bridgerton Season 2, currently at 93.8 million views, drops out of the list completely. The ranking of Netflix’s most popular series is calculated over a 91-day period, leaving Adolescence plenty of time to maintain its momentum for another two months.

Just a week ago, Karan Johar shared his thoughts on social media about the show, expressing high praise. As a filmmaker, he highlighted that adolescence serves as a wake-up call for parents in this era of social media. He pointed out that he grew up listening to conversations translated through emojis, reading books while they now scroll reels, and navigating self-discovery amidst comparisons. According to him, the pandemic is presently happening, but we’re not always aware of it because it’s not visible – we just don’t see it.
