Jens Grede, co-founder of the fashion label Skims alongside Kim Kardashian and his spouse Emma Grede, has been appointed to UTA’s Board of Directors.
Skims’ CEO, Grede, additionally holds the position as chairperson for the fashion label Frame, and manages investments in consumer and media companies through his corporation, Popular Culture.
I’m thrilled to join forces with UTA, a company at the heart of culture and commerce that has built category-leading brands. I can’t wait to contribute my vision and insights as we guide clients through the dynamic entertainment and brand world. It’s an honor to be part of UTA’s board, and I’m looking forward to this exciting journey,” said Jens, expressing his enthusiasm on Thursday.
Grede and his business associate, Erik Torstensson, previously disposed of their marketing firm, The Saturday Group, along with its affiliated entities, to Omnicom and Interpublic Group for a change in focus towards different consumer and media ventures.
Grede expressed great enthusiasm about becoming part of the UTA Board and collaborating with David and the team, as the company keeps finding and capitalizing on chances in a rapidly changing entertainment and branding environment,” stated Grede himself.
On June 1, Grede entered the UTA boardroom, taking his place after Kramer assumed the role of CEO following Jeremy Zimmer’s long tenure as leader. Zimmer, one of the UTA’s founders, transitioned into a board member and executive chairman position. Paul Wachter continues to serve as the chair of the board at the talent agency.
Under Zimmer’s leadership, UTA experienced a notable phase of expansion, finalizing around 19 acquisitions as stated by the company and forming strategic partnerships with entities such as Klutch Sports Group. Moreover, UTA attracted private equity investment from EQT, aiming to accelerate its ongoing growth even more.
