As a longtime admirer of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s versatile acting skills, it’s always a pleasure to witness her growth and evolution as an artist. From Poo to Geet, from Chameli to Jab We Met’s Geet, she has consistently surprised us with her range and depth. Now, with The Buckingham Murders, she is taking on a new challenge – a British-Indian detective in a crime thriller set in England.
Through films such as Jab We Met, Omkara, Chameli, and numerous others, Kareena Kapoor Khan has undeniably showcased her exceptional acting skills within the realm of Hindi cinema. It’s important to note that Kareena is much more than simply ‘Poo’ from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham; she is now preparing for the premiere of Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders. According to recent reports, there’s buzz that the Kareena Kapoor-led film will be simultaneously released in both its original English version and a Hindi-dubbed adaptation.
As per a recent report by Bollywood Hungama, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s movie, The Buckingham Murders, is set to have two releases: an original English version to preserve its authenticity, and a Hindi-dubbed version for Indian viewers who prefer that language.
According to a source, as indicated by the title, the movie takes place in Buckingham, England. To preserve accuracy, all dialogue spoken by local actors is in English, even those who are originally from India speak Hindi with an accent. (The original Hinglish version uses English for authenticity.)
The original report mentioned that some viewers might find dialogues spoken in English or Hindi with an accent unsettling. To cater to these cinema-goers, the creators plan to distribute a Hindi-dubbed variant of the film. In this version, the original English and accented Hindi lines have been carefully translated to ensure that viewers can both appreciate and comprehend the movie.
On August 21st, the creators revealed a teaser for The Buckingham Murders. Following its release, it appears that Hansal Mehta’s directorial team has planned to premiere the official trailer on September 3rd. According to News 18, an event for launching the trailer of Kareena’s movie will take place on that same day.
Under the guidance of director Hansal Mehta, the movie “The Buckingham Murders” is set to hit theaters on September 13 this year. This upcoming production had its international premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on October 14, 2023.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share that in an upcoming film production, I take on the captivating role of Jasmeet Bhamra, a British-Indian detective. This character is tasked with solving the chilling case of a 10-year-old child’s murder in the picturesque town of Buckinghamshire. Alongside esteemed producers Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, I am also co-producing this riveting crime thriller, promising an enthralling journey into the depths of mystery and suspense.
