Kathryn Bigelow‘s next feature has a title and fall release date from Netflix.
As an avid movie enthusiast, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I learned on Wednesday that the esteemed Oscar-winning director is working on a political thriller titled “A House of Dynamite.” This captivating film will make its way to select cinemas in October before premiering on Netflix on October 24. Starring the talented Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson, this movie boasts a script penned by Noah Oppenheim – making it an absolute must-watch for me!
A House of Dynamite” revolves around the investigation into who fired a missile at the United States and the subsequent efforts to identify the culprit and decide on an appropriate response.
In addition to the main cast members Gabe Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, and Jason Clarke, the film features supporting roles played by Malachi Beasley, Brian Tee, Brittany O’Grady, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Willa Fitzgerald, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Kyle Allen, and Kaitlyn Dever.
Oppenheim, Bigelow and Greg Shapiro serve as producers.
Kathryn Bigelow’s past works encompass films such as Detroit (2017), Zero Dark Thirty (2012) and Point Break (1991). However, her most significant achievements came with her 2009 production, The Hurt Locker. This remarkable film not only earned her the prestigious Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director, but also amassed a total of six Academy Awards. In The Hurt Locker, we see Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie and Guy Pearce bring to life a gripping tale centered around an army bomb squad operating during the Iraq War.
In the upcoming action-comedy movie on Prime Video titled “Heads of State,” you’ll find Idris Elba sharing the screen with John Cena. His forthcoming projects also include assuming the role of Man-at-Arms in next year’s live-action version of “Masters of the Universe.” Most recently, you might have spotted Stanley Tucci in “Dune: Part Two.
