KAWS Reunites With the Brooklyn Nets For Nike NBA City Edition Uniform

As a die-hard basketball fan who grew up in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, I must say that the unveiling of the Brooklyn Nets’ 2024-25 City Edition Uniforms designed by KAWS is nothing short of electrifying! Having witnessed the transformation of Brooklyn into a cultural hub over the years, it’s heartening to see our beloved team embracing its roots and collaborating with one of our own.

The Brooklyn Nets have revealed their 2024-25 City Edition uniform designed in partnership with renowned Brooklyn artist KAWS. For their second collaboration, the word “Nets” has been replaced by “Brooklyn” on the jersey’s front, emphasizing their broader representation of the borough they hail from.

Instead of directly using KAWS’ iconic figurines, the uniform subtly reflects the artist’s style. The mesh design takes its main inspiration from the 10-part work “TENSION” by KAWS, featuring a greyscale color scheme and abstract forms. Additionally, KAWS’ signature is delicately embroidered in white above the jock tag, while his XX symbol graces the front of the waistband.

According to KAWS, it was delightful to create my second City Edition jersey for the Nets. This design not only shows my appreciation for my hometown team but also acknowledges the spirit of Brooklyn.

The team plans to unveil their new jerseys during the game at Barclays Center on December 1st (Sunday), when they face off against the Orlando Magic. These jerseys are expected to be worn in around a dozen additional matches throughout this season.

You can purchase the new City Edition uniforms for the Brooklyn Nets basketball team in the year 2024-25 from their online store or directly at their team store located at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, at Fanatics.
