Keith Haring’s Vibrant Artwork Gets an Added Pop in New Book

As a huge fan of Keith Haring and his energetic, iconic artwork, I am absolutely thrilled about the release of the new pop-up book published by Poposition Press. The three-dimensional presentation of some of Haring’s most famous pieces is an exciting way to experience his art in a whole new dimension.

An intriguing new publication by Poposition Press brings Keith Haring’s vibrant art style to life with an added dimension. Featuring some of his most iconic pieces, the book transforms these works into stunning pop-up spreads. The illustrations, sourced from the Keith Haring Foundation, are expertly crafted by award-winning artist and paper maestro Simon Arizpe.

Rosston Meyer, founder of Position Press, was amazed by the unrestricted access he received while collaborating with the artist’s foundation. He decided to highlight Haring’s works including “Sculptures,” “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell,” “Pop Shop Grid,” “Dog,” “Silence=Death,” and “Houston Street Mural.” In an interview with Creative Boom, Rosston shared, “We had access to the archives along with anything available online or in publications. The wealth of work was initially overwhelming. We adored Haring’s subway chalk drawings but eventually selected ‘The Marriage of Heaven and Hell’ as the sole black-and-white pop-up for the book.”

Paraphrasing: Interpreting an image, particularly that of a renowned artist like Haring, carries a significant burden. Typically, it takes three to four attempts to get it just right. Delving into his biography, I discovered how productive his artistic endeavors were until the very end of his life. Moreover, his dedication to utilizing art for charitable causes and community involvement are areas where I believe I could benefit and make improvements in both my personal life and artistic pursuits.

As a long-time art enthusiast and collector, I’m always on the lookout for unique and captivating pieces that add character to my collection. The Keith Haring Pop Up Book, with its intricate pop-up designs spanning over eight spreads, is nothing short of a marvel. Six of these spreads pop up to an impressive 11 x 17 inch scale, making each piece not just a visual feast but also a three-dimensional experience.
