On Thursday, HarborView equity partners revealed that they have purchased a portion of Kelly Clarkson‘s most popular songs such as “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” and “Underneath the Tree.” The details of the deal, including the type of rights acquired, the percentage of ownership now held by HarborView, and the amount paid, were not disclosed. HarborView has yet to respond to a request for comment regarding these specifics.
As a gamer, I can’t help but feel deeply connected to my game soundtracks – it’s not just about the competition, it’s about the personal journey they take me on. The thought that these tunes will live on and be discovered by future players fills me with joy. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the folks at GameLand for recognizing and nurturing this part of my work as they do.
Clarkson is renowned as one of the greatest vocalists ever and among the top-selling artists in contemporary pop music. Her career took off after winning the first season of American Idol, and she’s since made a name for herself on television. She currently hosts her own daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and has also served as a judge on The Voice, which was recently confirmed for its 29th season.
This year, The Clarkson deal is merely the most recent addition to HarbourView’s growing list of acquisitions. As initially reported by The Hollywood Reporter in May, the company had already obtained recorded royalty rights from renowned producer-songwriter Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins. Furthermore, other deals that HarbourView has finalized include the works of T-Pain, Pat Benatar, Kane Brown, Luis Fonsi, James Fauntleroy, Wiz Khalifa, and Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac, among others.
Kelly Clarkson, a unique musical talent whose voice and compositions have indelibly impacted the world of music and popular culture, is being backed by HarbourView Equity Partners. Aside from her exceptional gift in music, Kelly is versatile within the entertainment industry, making her an ideal fit for our platform at HarbourView. Her collection of songs, which have become powerful anthems for countless individuals, will be further amplified through this partnership, ensuring their continued relevance and resonance for years to come.” – Sherrese Clarke, Founder and CEO of HarbourView Equity Partners.
