Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan are preparing for a showdown in Kesari Chapter 2, scheduled to premiere on April 18. The film also features Ananya Panday. Speaking about the project, R. Madhavan expressed his excitement over playing a villainous character in the movie. He mentioned that he’s eager for audiences to detest his character, as this would mean he has effectively brought the antagonist to life.

At the premiere event for the trailer, actor R. Madhavan revealed that he found the antagonist role appealing because the script genuinely intrigued him. He expressed his aim for audiences to dislike him following Kesari Chapter 2. Additionally, Madhavan discussed the movie’s plotline, stating his main objective was to portray the story in a way that would make it as impactful as possible for viewers.

R. Madhavan expressed that he felt the character he played was a perfect fit for him, stressing that the individual who instigated the story’s events should accept responsibility for them. He mentioned that he didn’t categorize the role as either good or bad but rather strived to portray it so convincingly that viewers would come to dislike his character.

In the past, R. Madhavan has taken on the role of a villain, as he previously appeared as an antagonist in the 2024 movie titled Shaitaan.

In the captivating narrative that unfolds within Kesari Chapter 2, I find myself immersed in a gripping courtroom saga tied to the heart-wrenching Jallianwala Bagh massacre. As a lifestyle expert, I take on the role of Neville McKinley, a tenacious lawyer defending the British Empire, while the charismatic Akshay Kumar embodies Sankaran Nair, an Indian attorney relentlessly pursuing justice for the unfortunate incident. Joining this dynamic duo is the talented Ananya Panday, portraying yet another legal powerhouse in this gripping cinematic journey.

The movie signifies as the first directorial venture by Karan Singh Tyagi, drawing inspiration from the book titled “The Case That Shook the Empire,” penned by authors Raghu and Pushpa Palat.

In the pipeline for R. Madhavan are two upcoming projects: “Test,” a movie where he will work alongside Nayanthara and Siddharth; and “De De Pyaar De 2,” in which he’ll team up with Rakul Preet Singh and Ajay Devgn.
