As a long-time fan who’s been following Kevin Abstract since his early days with BROCKHAMPTON, I can confidently say that this recent flurry of releases has me feeling like a kid on Christmas morning! It’s as if he’s been saving up all these gems for us, and now he’s unleashing them one after another.
Recently, Kevin Abstract has been quite active, releasing a series of singles on YouTube that are likely to be part of his upcoming album titled “Glue“. In the last day, he’s added three new tracks to the BROCKHAMPTON YouTube channel. The first was “You’re My Type of Pleasure”, followed by “Jefferson”, and most recently, “Diamondz and Cash” in collaboration with Lil Yachty and HVN.
On Monday, the song “You’re My Type of Pleasure,” produced by Jacob Bugden, was revealed. Later in the day, he also released “Jefferson,” a track that listeners found reminiscent of Abstract’s earlier sound.
Among the new releases, the highly anticipated track titled “Diamondz and Cash” is one that stands out. Clocking over five minutes, it boasts collaborations with Yachty and HVN. A sneak peek of this track was given in January 2021, which was initially teased on Abstract’s Twitter account in a promotional video for his VIDEO STORE clothing collection launch back in July 2021.
Later in the same year, further parts of the song emerged as Boat’s involvement in the track was validated on an episode of The Boat Show in September.
