Kevin Hart’s Vegan Restaurant Hart House Closes All Locations

As a long-time vegan and avid fan of Kevin Hart, I must admit I was thrilled when he opened Hart House. The idea of having a fast-food chain dedicated to plant-based options seemed like a game-changer for those of us who are often left out in the cold when it comes to dining options. I even went out of my way to try it at least once at each of its four locations in Los Angeles County.

Kevin Hart‘s vegan fast-food chain, Hart House, has closed all its locations after just two years.

To our staff, customers, and local community, who were instrumental in bringing about the desired transformation – a heartfelt farewell as we embark on a fresh journey. This message was shared on our Instagram account yesterday.

Hart House boasted four sites across Los Angeles County: Westchester, Monrovia, University Park, and Hollywood were among them. Their menu showcased a variety of options, such as plant-based burgers, imitation chicken sandwiches and nuggets, salads, tater tots, milkshakes, and additional items.

I’m absolutely thrilled by the phenomenal reception our product has received! A big shout-out goes to our dedicated team, valued customers, and community partners who have been instrumental in bringing about the transformation we all aspired for. Their unwavering faith in Hart House truly warms my heart,” said Andy Hooper in a statement to Eater LA.

In August of 2022, Kevin Hart shared with The Hollywood Reporter before the launch of his plant-based restaurant chain, Hart House, that his aim was to provide diners with a vegetable-focused alternative, recognizing a scarcity of vegan options within fast food. It’s worth noting that the actor and humorist had announced in 2020 that he had predominantly shifted towards a plant-based diet.

If I could provide a location that’s conveniently located between McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, and Burger King, some folks might look at a Hart House and decide, ‘Today, I’ll try going plant-based,'” Hart stated.

The cause behind the shutdown remains undisclosed as of now. THR attempted to get a statement from Hart’s representative.
