As a seasoned gamer of life who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless streetwear trends, I must admit that the collaboration between KidSuper and Trapstar has caught my attention like a perfectly timed pass in a soccer match. Having spent hours scrolling through the virtual runways of Paris Fashion Week, I can confidently say that these limited-edition jerseys are a goal worth chasing.
In June, Colm Dillane from KidSuper teamed up with the UK’s renowned streetwear brand Trapstar for a unique football match in Paris. This event took place right during the Paris Fashion Week. On the field, Dillane played alongside Clavish, Alex Iwobi, and Jack Nichols, who all sported custom jerseys designed by KidSuper and Trapstar. Now, these exclusive kits will be made available to the general public.
These special edition jerseys are available in soft shades of pink and blue, and they pay tribute to both brands’ home currencies. On the front, you’ll see Benjamin Franklin, who appears on the $100 USD bill, while James Watt, featured on the £50 GBP note, is displayed at the back. The KidSuper Studios logo can be found at the base of the design, and Trapstar lettering adorns the shoulders.
“[Colm and I] struck up a friendship through Bloody Osiris earlier this year, during the KidSuper show I attended in Paris in January. As it turned out, we hit it off immediately,” Lee Trapstar explained. “Our mutual passion for soccer/football was a key factor. Colm possesses an invigorating spirit and unparalleled dedication. I was amazed to see that, despite being busy with his own fashion week show in June, he managed to carve out time to join a game.”
“It’s wild how two brands can come together over a shared love for soccer,” Dillane added. “As a U.S. brand, people don’t usually expect me to be this into the game. But who knows? Maybe we’ll turn this into an annual thing.”
Starting this coming Friday, 12 p.m. (GMT), you’ll have the opportunity to purchase the collaborative jersey line from KidSuper and Trapstar directly online. Check out the images displayed above for a sneak peek at the designs!
