Vemas shares his heartrending story about how the Captain of Steel Garrote callously took down his beloved nephew and plundered his cherished family heirloom – a ring. This ring holds immense sentimental value, and as players, our quest becomes one of retrieval and retribution in the Debt of Blood mission. We must find this precious artifact and bring the Captain to justice, avenging Vemas’ nephew.
How to Start Debt of Blood Quest in Avowed
In the game ‘Avowed’, The Debt of Blood quest becomes accessible to players when Fior Mes Iverno has been set ablaze following the completion of the Ancient Soil quest. You can discover Vemas Rogera at the Abandoned Farms site, which lies north of Fior Mes Iverno.
Following a conversation with Vemas, the Debt of Blood quest commences, and players must journey to the Ranger HQ to face off against Steel Garrote’s captain.
Should You Kill Captain Carnet or Resolve the Matter Peacefully?
Upon reaching the Ranger Headquarters, make your way indoors and find Captain Carnet near the fireplace. She’ll boast about the triumph of the siege on Fior. However, you need to address her regarding the ring she took from a fallen sentry. She will explain that it was a token of honor, a customary trophy she kept to prove her valor in accordance with tradition.
Hey there, fellow gamer! In this scenario, I find myself standing at a crossroads, facing two paths. One leads to a confrontation with Captain Carnet, where I could seize the ring by force. The other path is less violent, offering a chance for peaceful dialogue that might let me retrieve the ring without any bloodshed. The wise choice seems to be the latter, as it comes with an added bonus: a one-of-a-kind weapon!
In this scenario, opting for an assault on her initiates a challenging battle against Captain Carnet and her Steel Garrote troops. This confrontation is difficult due to the battlemages shielding the captain with their magical protection. To make the fight easier, it’s advisable to target the battlemage and sorcerers that are surrounding the captain initially, aiming to weaken her defenses. After these mages and sorcerers have been defeated, you can then focus on attacking Captain Carnet.
Once Captain Carnet is down, take the and the unique Cutlass from her body.
Returning the Rogera Family Ring to Vemas
Make your way back to Vemas and share the details of the quest with him. If you successfully defeat Captain Carnet and retrieve the ring, he’ll generously compensate you with some gold coins. But keep in mind, if you return without eliminating Captain Carnet, even if you bring back the ring, he won’t be pleased and there won’t be any reward for the players.
Regardless of your choice, this will mark the Debt of Blood side quest in Avowed as complete.
