Growing up in the ’90s, I remember the iconic AURALEE brand gracing the streets of Tokyo, and now seeing it join forces with KITH 101 is a dream come true. The combination of KITH’s craftsmanship and AURALEE’s distinctive style will undoubtedly result in a collection that’s as unique as my vintage Nike Air Max 95s!
Following the unveiling of the KITH 101 x New Balance MADE in USA 990v4 and M1000, I’m thrilled to announce that another collaboration is on its way from KITH 101! This time, they’re teaming up with AURALEE. Prepare for a harmonious blend of KITH 101’s muted color scheme gracing various iconic silhouettes from the Japanese brand, such as suits, outerwear, and knitwear.
The KITH 101 collection, centered around a unique earthy color palette, is the result of collaboration between KITH’s Ronnie Fieg and AURALEE’s Ryota Iwai. This partnership was built on shared values of artisanship, which is evident throughout the entire line. Each piece in the collection features a detachable co-branded label, inspired by AURALEE’s distinctive insignia. All garments were meticulously crafted in Japan using only high-quality materials such as Super 120 raw cashmere, woven canvas, ultra-fine Egyptian fine cotton, and ultra-soft South African super-kid mohair.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite pieces from this collaboration take center stage, showcasing striking designs such as the Heavy Canvas Liner Coat, Melton Chesterfield Coat, and Light Wool Max Gabardine Jacket. The Heavy Canvas Liner Coat is a marvel, constructed with densely woven Japanese canvas for a robust structure, featuring a cashmere wool blend lining, roomy pockets, and an adjustable hood. On the other hand, the Chesterfield Coat exudes elegance, tailored from a twill chambray melton blend made from Auralee’s luxurious Super160 wool.
Additionally, the variety of clothing encompasses simple, comfortable lounge wear, whereas the selection of accessories is quite impressive, including an array of unlabeled hats, practical bags, scarves, and balaclavas.
