As a music enthusiast with a penchant for high-quality audio equipment, I must say that the collaboration between Ojas founder Devon Turnbull and Klipsch is nothing short of a dream come true! Having always been captivated by the rich, powerful sounds of Klipsch speakers, I was thrilled to learn about this limited edition k0-R1 collaborative two-way loudspeaker.
Devon Turnbull, founder of Ojas, and the well-known audio brand Klipsch have jointly revealed a special limited edition speakers collaboration. When Klipsch proposed a unique project to Turnbull, he was eager to accept. Later, he shared that he was taken aback by the quality of sound from the Klipsch Heresy IV. At a recent launch event in NYC, Turnbull stated, “I believe if I had approached Klipsch, this project might have been an improbable one. Fortunately, things worked out differently.
Collaboratively, the duo has developed the latest addition to their series, dubbed the k0-R1 collaborative two-way loudspeaker. Measuring 15.5 inches by 24.81 inches by 13.25 inches, this speaker stands as the smallest model within the Klipsch Heritage Series. Turnbull suggests it as an ideal starting point for novices venturing into high-efficiency speakers. Sharing dimensions with the Heresy, it is crafted from Baltic birch plywood and joined using butt joints. The speaker stands on a KS-12 pedestal and boasts a sandcast aluminum horn, designed using 3D printing technology. To streamline the design process, Turnbull opted for a two-way configuration, stating that simplifying audio components is typically beneficial.
Crafted as a limited edition run of just 100 units, this speaker is painstakingly assembled by hand and boasts a stylish gray lacquer and red oak veneer finish. Each set retails for $8,498 USD, and can currently be purchased exclusively through Ojas, while stocks last.
