As a seasoned gamer and watch enthusiast with a soft spot for unconventional timepieces, I find myself captivated by Konstantin Chaykin’s latest creation, the ThinKing. My journey through the world of gaming has taught me that sometimes, breaking records and pushing boundaries is the only way to move forward.
Russian independent watchcraftsman Konstantin Chaykin recently unveiled a new Wristmons prototype named ThinKing at Geneva Watch Days. This timepiece, known as ThinKing, represents Konstantin Chaykin’s endeavor to push the boundaries and potentially create the world’s thinnest mechanical wristwatch.
The Thinker boasts a slimmer build than the record-setting Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra, measuring just 1.65mm thick compared to its 1.7mm profile.
This design concept leans towards a minimalist and almost industrial aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Konstantin Chaykin’s iconic Wristmons line. The dial incorporates elements reminiscent of the Joker series, with one window showing hours and another for minutes, much like the eyes of a jester in this rendition.
At the rear side, the watch showcases the integrated K.23-0 movement. Equipped with a power reserve of 32 hours, this movement requires winding via a key. The jewels and barrels exhibit a design that combines both flat and three-dimensional aspects. Above it, you’ll find a script-like inscription saying, “Prototype of the World’s Thinnest Watch by K. Chaykin — 30.08.2024.”
As of now, Konstantin Chaykin’s project, known as ThinKing, is still in the development stage before it moves into full production. At this point, no specific information about its pricing or expected launch timeline has been disclosed. For more details on the prototype, feel free to check out their official website.
