Lady Gaga Shares New ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Trailer

As a die-hard fan of both Lady Gaga and the DC Universe, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Joker: Folie à Deux”! Having witnessed her captivating performances in “A Star is Born” and “House of Gucci,” I have no doubt that she will bring an electrifying energy to her role as Lee. The fact that Gaga insisted on performing her vocals live on set is just the icing on the cake!

Since Todd Phillips revealed that Lady Gaga would be acting alongside Joaquin Phoenix in “Joker: Madness Duet”, the follow-up to the 2019 film “Joker”, anticipation has been mounting among both DC and Gaga enthusiasts. As the movie’s October release date draws near, Gaga has shared a fresh trailer on her social media platforms to provide fans with a glimpse of her character Lee, who seems to be inspired by Harley Quinn.

In the latest preview, audiences catch a clearer glimpse of the character played by Lady Gaga, known as Lee. Unlike Margot Robbie’s flamboyant portrayal of Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad series, this film world presents Lee/Harley as an ordinary woman who unknowingly falls into the Joker’s schemes, eventually transforming into his criminal accomplice.

2022 marked the start of production for the sequel, and it was hinted that a musical aspect would be incorporated. At the recent Venice Film Festival, it was disclosed that Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper sang their parts live on set, as per her preference. The trailer showcases an awe-inspiring cover of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” sung by the Academy Award-winning artist herself.

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited to share that this upcoming film marks Lady Gaga’s third significant acting venture, following her critically acclaimed performances as Ally in Bradley Cooper’s “A Star is Born” (2018) and Patrizia Reggiani in Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” (2021). On the musical front, the first single from her eagerly awaited album, code-named “LG7,” is set to drop mere days after the movie’s release. I can hardly wait!
