As a dedicated fan who has followed Imtiaz Ali’s cinematic journey since his breakthrough film Socha Na Tha, I can confidently say that the collaboration between him and his brother Sajid Ali on Laila Majnu was a fresh, enchanting chapter in their collective narrative. While the initial response may not have been as grand, the film’s enduring appeal is a testament to its timeless tale of love and passion.

Imtiaz Ali has shown his talent as a capable director and scriptwriter, but in 2018, he teamed up with his brother Sajid Ali for the first time on Laila Majnu, his directorial debut. Despite not being commercially successful initially, the romantic film has grown in popularity over time. As a result, the producers have decided to show it in cinemas once more. The movie is currently performing well, and the pair hinted at potentially working together again on another love story.

Just a while ago, I casually placed a leaf-adorned note at the edge of the boundary, and there it was – “Laila Majnu” elegantly written in the center. The poster also highlighted some timeless tales of love such as Sohni-Mahiwal, Sassi-Punnu, Mirza-Sahiba, Heer-Ranjha, Shireen-Farhad, and Romeo-Juliet. Piquing everyone’s interest, I penned a caption that read, “Each love story has been written… What about the next Love Legend?!!!” As a lifestyle expert, I’m always on the lookout for the next great love story to inspire us all!

In response to the successful run of the movie Laila Majnu, directed by Sajid and Imtiaz, its leading actor Avinash Tiwary shared his joy on a social media platform that is now known as X (previously Twitter).

In his message, he expressed, “Thank you for all the affection…I’ve long thought that a significant portion of our viewers doesn’t make noise…but when they do speak, oh what eloquence they use! Thank you to our audience…This is your triumph…I know it held special significance for you.”

6 years ago, only a handful of people witnessed the initial release of my beloved film in cinemas. Last night, though, it felt like the whole world was there, as there wasn’t an empty seat to be found! I can hardly contain my joy – I’m tearing up with happiness! This movie holds a special place in my heart, and I am deeply moved by the love it continues to receive. Thank you all for making “Laila Majnu” shine once more on the big screen. #lailamajnu back in theatres again!
