As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for following the behind-the-scenes action of the media world, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and admiration for Lance Frank’s latest move. With his 13 years of experience under his belt at CBS News, it’s like he’s leveled up to a whole new dimension of strategic communication.
CBS is promoting Lance Frank to lead all communications for CBS News, Stations & Media Ventures.
Frank, a 13-year veteran at CBS News, will be responsible for managing all communication efforts – both internal and external – across CBS News, CBS Stations, syndication, talent, programming, first-run syndication, and division strategy. He reports to Wendy McMahon, the president and CEO of CBS News and Stations, as well as Chris Ender, the executive VP of communications at CBS, in this new role.
Frank plays a pivotal role in counseling top CBS News leaders such as McMahon, and he collaborates extensively with talent from various programs within the network, including 60 Minutes and the CBS Evening News.
As a gamer speaking directly, I’ve been gaming with Lance for quite some time now. He’s not just a skilled talker or tactician, but a reliable ally who always has my back. What sets him apart is his knack for collaboration – in a short span of time, he’s managed to rally and motivate our diverse team, fostering an atmosphere of unity and synergy. It’s clear that he appreciates the power of teamwork, knowing full well that the best strategies unfold when we work together seamlessly as one unit.
Beginning from January, Lance has been actively moving forward at a fast pace with determination and precision, effectively sharing updates about the organization and boosting our coverage across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms,” Ender wrote in his note. “He is known for his innovative ideas, valuable guidance to top management, and fantastic teamwork with all CBS communication teams. He has strong connections with media outlets and talent, which are inherent traits of his (as well as his passion for cheering on his LSU Tigers every Saturday afternoon in the fall).
