Lara Dutta’s father, retired Air Force officer Wing Commander L.K. Dutta, passed away in Mumbai at 84 years old. Lara, along with her husband Mahesh Bhupathi, attended the funeral services for him. The family gathered to pay their respects during the last rites. At this time, the cause of his death is not known and the family has remained silent about the loss, making no public comments as of yet.

Lara Dutta’s father, L.K. Dutta, held a esteemed position as Wing Commander within the Indian Air Force. At a tender age, he enrolled in the National Defense Academy (NDA) and later became an accomplished helicopter pilot during his service.
2. Throughout his service, he courageously fought in three wars – in 1965, 1969, and 1971 – demonstrating his steadfast loyalty to our country.
3. Sadly, at the age of 41, he had a fatal heart attack that restricted him for the rest of his life, bringing an end to his aviation career. Despite not having a traditional college education because of his early military service, he showed resilience and grace as he adjusted to civilian life, raising his family and helping them navigate through difficulties.
4. Additionally, he was privileged to act as the private pilot for the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a fact that Lara herself has verified in interviews. She explained how this relationship impacted her performance in the movie Bell Bottom by portraying Indira Gandhi more authentically.
5. Jennifer Dutta, who is of Anglo-Indian heritage, was married to Lara Dutta. Raised in a household that embraced multiple cultures, Lara’s father was Punjabi, while her mother was Anglo-Indian. The family eventually established their home in Bengaluru, where Lara finished her education.

She talked about how he pursued a career in the Indian Air Force at a young age, trained at the NDA, and ultimately became an accomplished helicopter pilot. Regarding her professional endeavors, Lara Dutta is preparing for her part in the highly anticipated movie “Welcome to the Jungle.” This venture signifies her return to work with Akshay Kumar since their last collaboration in the 2021 thriller “Bell Bottom.” The film is helmed by director Ahmed Khan and features a talented roster of actors.
