Late Night with the Devil” and “Barbarian” Unite for New Horror Film “The Shepherd

David Dastmalchian and Georgina Campbell will headline the upcoming film known as “The Shepherd.” This news is thrilling for fans of genre cinema, as “Late Night with the Devil” and “Barbarian,” two exceptional horror films from recent times, feature these talented actors.

In a new horror film titled “The Shepherd,” due to premiere at Cannes, Campbell and Dastmalchian will be taking on leading roles. Directed by John Hyams from a script by Alexander Gustaveson, the story revolves around a young woman in labor who is also fleeing from the abuse she’s endured. During her desperate attempt to escape in the Nevada wilderness under cover of night, her plans are disrupted when an enigmatic stranger emerges, posing a sinister threat of their own.

The movie titled “The Shepherd” is being developed through a collaboration between Steven Schneider and Roy Lee from Spooky Pictures, Ben Cornwell, Jordan Foley, and Nick Smith from Paperclip Ltd., and Anton, represented by Sébastien Raybaud. David Dastmalchian, the lead actor, will serve as an executive producer via his Good Fiend Films production company, along with Rami Yasin from Spooky Pictures, Yeardley Smith from Paperclip, and Ben Ross and Derek Dauchy for Image Nation. It’s said that filming for “The Shepherd” is set to commence this fall.

David Dastmalchian Was Impressed With the Script

Dastmalchian shared his early impressions about “The Shepherd” and reconnecting with former collaborators from “Late Night With the Devil”. He mentioned, “As soon as I started reading ‘The Shepherd’, I was captivated. I couldn’t wait to witness this intense, terrifying universe come alive, and John is exactly the right person for the job. Working with Roy and Steven on ‘Late Night with the Devil’ left me eager to join them again, and I can hardly contain my excitement to introduce the powerhouse of Good Fiend Films into the mix.

Ben Ross, CEO of Image Nation, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming project, “After the success of Late Night with the Devil, we’re thrilled to team up with David Dastmalchian again for The Shepherd.” Ross also commended Dastmalchian, stating that the well-loved actor “infuses every project he’s involved in with a unique energy and depth, and this film continues our productive collaboration with Spooky Pictures.” Under their current partnership, Image Nation and Spooky Pictures plan to produce The Shepherd as the first of four upcoming films. These projects also include Charlie Polinger’s The Plague starring Joel Edgerton, Randall Okita’s Menace starring Isabel May, and Damian McCarthy’s Hokum, which will be headlined by a prominent actor.
