Latest Persona Teaser By Atlus Has Set Up Fans For Inevitable Disappointment

Fans of Persona were whipped into a flurry when Atlus posted an enigmatic image on social media hinting at an upcoming announcement. However, instead of news about Persona 6 or something new, it turned out to be about Persona 5: The Phantom X, a gacha game being developed by Black Wings Game Studio, and its forthcoming global launch.

In The Phantom X game, Lufel is one of the significant characters who can be controlled, and interestingly enough, he transforms into an owl, whether in the Metaverse or reality. Although the announcement was somewhat cryptic, it had already been leaked earlier. It’s official that Atlus Japan will announce a global launch date for Persona 5: The Phantom X on May 15th.

The game has been released in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and South Korea, with plans for a Japanese debut this summer as per Persona Central. Additionally, rumors of a western release are anticipated during the live event slated for May 15th.

Fans of Persona have been rejoicing lately. Last year, Atlus launched the sensational Persona 3 Reload, which was an immediate hit. It’s almost certain that we’ll witness the release of a remake for Persona 4 this very year.

It’s likely that enthusiasts of turn-based RPGs who were first exposed to the genre through Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will want to give the game a try once it becomes available.

What’s left now is waiting for some official updates on Persona 6. Deep down, I can’t help but hope for the almost unattainable Persona 5 Arena. But Atlus, my hope won’t fade, and neither will the hopes of countless other fans.
