As a theater enthusiast who has been fortunate enough to witness some of the most remarkable performances on Broadway, I must say that my experiences have been vastly different with certain actors. Laura Benanti and Zachary Levi, for instance, were co-stars in the 2016 revival of “She Loves Me,” a production that left me spellbound but not because of Levi’s performance.

Despite their joint success on Broadway in 2016, Benanti openly expressed during a recent interview on Eric Williams’ podcast, ‘That’s a Gay Ass Podcast’, that she never held Levi in high regard. As a popular TV star from NBC’s ‘Chuck’ and the rising movie star of DC’s ‘Shazam!’, Levi was admired by many. However, Benanti felt differently, stating that he seemed to be draining the energy from the room and was overeager to explain everyone else’s roles.

As a fan, I was deeply touched by his talent and legacy.
Approximately a month after Creel’s death, Levi asserted during an Instagram Live that the COVID-19 vaccine might have caused his former colleague’s “turbo cancer.” He stated, “I wholeheartedly believe that if the COVID vaccinations hadn’t been compulsory for the American public, and theaters hadn’t been pressured…,” implying a connection between the two. His post, titled “Trump, Triage, Corruption, Covid, and the Possible End of the World,” faced criticism from performers who quickly responded in his comments section to denounce his theory.
Benanti also expressed disapproval. “Employing his memory for political purposes and witnessing him attempt to manipulate himself into shedding a tear, which he left unchecked, I felt, ‘May you be cursed forever,'” the seasoned actress stated on the podcast, as shown in the video excerpt below.
