As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for fashion that mirrors the dynamic energy of the gaming world, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the news of le PÈRE’s new store opening in Los Angeles. Having spent countless hours navigating the virtual landscapes of games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA V, immersing myself in the vibrant city life of Los Santos, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia at the prospect of stepping into le PÈRE’s West Coast outpost.
The downtown New York menswear label, famed for its artist-inspired fashion collections and lively Orchard Street musical events, as reported by WWD, is expanding to Los Angeles. This two-year-old brand will establish itself in the West Hollywood area at 8507 Melrose Avenue.
Abhi Janamanchi, brand director at le PÈRE, clarified the reasoning behind their West Coast expansion: “Given the consistent success of our artist events here in New York, many people have asked if we plan to tap into our extensive network of artists, especially since Los Angeles hosts a multitude of musicians. So, are there any future plans for le PÈRE out there?
Given that a significant portion of our community and connections are located on the West Coast, and considering Los Angeles’ status as a major cultural hub, particularly in the music industry, it seemed like an opportune moment for us to establish a hub out there.
The Los Angeles store, constructed by Bond Architecture (the team behind le PÈRE’s New York outlet), intends to follow a retail-cum-event-space philosophy similar to its East Coast counterpart. Inside, the store design draws inspiration from iconic Southern California themes such as skateparks and theaters, featuring a predominantly wooden exterior and bleacher seating areas.
le PÈRE’s Los Angeles store will officially open on Tuesday, December 3.
