The live-action Legend of Zelda movie from Nintendo and Sony has cast its Zelda and Link.
On Wednesday, Nintendo’s leader Shigeru Miyamoto announced through a post that Bo Bragason has been cast as the main character and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will portray Link in the upcoming project. He included pictures of them both, dressed up for the roles, it seems.
Miyamoto shared his excitement as he revealed that Bo Bragason will portray Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link in the live-action adaptation of ‘The Legend of Zelda.’ He can’t wait to witness their performances on the silver screen.”
Or alternatively,
“In the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of ‘The Legend of Zelda,’ Bo Bragason has been cast as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Miyamoto is thrilled about this and can’t wait to see them both shine on the big screen.
He then confirmed the film is set to be released in theaters on May 7, 2027.
English actress Lyla Bragason is predominantly recognized by viewers for her performances in the BBC One series “Three Girls,” as well as “The Jetty” and Disney+’s “Renegade Nell.” Meanwhile, the 16-year-old actor, Leo Ainsworth from Britain, is commonly known to audiences as Miles in the Netflix series “The Haunting of Bly Manor” and William in “Flora & Ulysses.
Here’s Miyamoto speaking! I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth have been cast as Zelda and Link, respectively. I can hardly wait to watch them bring these iconic characters to life on the big screen! (1/2)

Wes Ball, the one behind the direction of “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” last year, is taking charge of the upcoming film. This movie intends to bring to life the Nintendo gaming series with the same title that debuted in 1986, primarily focusing on the adventures of a young Link and Princess Zelda as they strive to protect Hyrule Kingdom from the villain Ganon.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I’ve learned Sony is releasing a movie, which originates from Nintendo and Avi Arad’s Arad Productions, Inc. Shigeru Miyamoto, a representative director at Nintendo, is producing this film in collaboration with Arad himself.
