As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share an exciting update about “The Legend of Zelda” – a long-awaited development that’s been buzzing in the gaming community for quite some time. The news, disseminated across various platforms and even by Discussing Film (as seen below), marks one of the biggest updates we’ve had on this project in years.
Interestingly, it seems Nintendo has narrowed down the release window significantly, pinpointing a specific month within the 2020s for the live-action movie’s debut. However, it’s worth noting that this release date coincides with another highly anticipated video game adaptation, “Sonic the Hedgehog 4,” slated for the same month.
This double whammy of eagerly awaited adaptations is sure to make for an action-packed cinema experience in the coming months!
Approximately a year and six months have elapsed since the initial announcement of The Legend of Zelda in November 2023. The director for this project is Ball, who is renowned for his work on the Maze Runner trilogy and the highly praised Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes film. He serves as both the director and a producer under their Oddball Entertainment banner. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Zelda and Mario video games, who also produced The Super Mario Bros. Movie, is also involved as a producer. Avi Arad, the former chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment, is also part of the production team.
