Lenny Kravitz, Halsey Join VMA Performers Lineup

As a lifelong music enthusiast who has attended more VMAs than I can count on one hand, I am thrilled to see such an eclectic and talented lineup for this year’s show! Lenny Kravitz returning after 25 years feels like a nostalgic homecoming, and Halsey’s 14th nomination is a testament to her enduring talent.

The 2024 VMAs have revealed another round of performers for the music awards show.

Next month, I’m pumped up to catch some amazing performances at Long Island’s UBS Arena! Lenny Kravitz, Halsey, Blackpink’s Lisa, and Benson Boone are all lined up to rock the stage! Can’t wait for this unforgettable night of music!

Kravitz is set to make a return to the VMA stage for the first time in over two and a half decades, having previously performed with Madonna during her “Ray of Light” act back in 1998. This year, he’s also nominated for the best rock award, thanks to his single titled “Human.”

Halsey, who has been nominated for 14 Video Music Awards throughout her career, is set to perform a fresh track from her upcoming record. She last took home a Moon Person award in 2019, sharing it with BTS.

As someone who has been following the rise of K-pop for over a decade now, I must say that Lisa from Blackpink making her solo debut on the VMAs’ main stage this year is truly a groundbreaking moment in the industry. Having witnessed the evolution of K-pop and its global expansion, it’s incredible to see one of its brightest stars breaking barriers and setting new records.

As a thrilled admirer, I’m excitedly sharing the news that Boone, who’s been nominated for the first time at the VMAs across three categories, is set to take the stage for his highly-anticipated live VMAs performance debut!

In addition to Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, and Katy Perry (who are already confirmed), these artists have been added to the lineup and will also be presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award.

At the 2024 VMAs, Taylor Swift is in the front with ten nominations. Close behind are Post Malone with nine, while Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Carpenter tie for sixth place, each receiving six nods.

MTV has decided to shift the 2024 VMAs from September 10 (the night of ABC’s presidential debate featuring Kamala Harris and Donald Trump) to September 11 instead, with the live broadcast taking place at the UBS Arena at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
