As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless rap battles in virtual worlds, I can tell you that Lil Yachty and Veeze have just dropped another banger with “Sorry Not Sorry.” The way they effortlessly flow from one verse to another is reminiscent of the smooth transitions between levels in my favorite rhythm games.
Over the past month, Lil Yachty has continued to release singles on his own. After dropping “Let’s Get on Dey Ass” in mid-July, he released “Hate Me,” and today, he’s made it clear that he’s not slowing down with the releases by putting out “Sorry Not Sorry.”
The unexpected two-minute track, titled “sorry not sorry – me & twin out now,” was unveiled by Veeze, following his surprise announcement a few hours prior. On Instagram, Lil Yachty shared the news: “Boat is also featured on Jean Dawson’s ‘Die For Me,’ which dropped this week.”

“Veeze starts off by saying he’s made an appearance, similar to Odd Future or Tyler, the Creator in style. Later, he mentions Queen Bey with the line ‘My cup is pink, just like a Barbie doll / I’m sorry, not sorry, just like Beyoncé.’ Yachty then joins for the second verse and later passes it back to Veeze for the third. In the end, Yachty wraps up the song with the fourth verse.”
Alongside the cut, there’s also a vibrant music video. This video was masterfully directed by both AMD Visuals and Little Miles. The “Sorry Not Sorry” video, in particular, is a single-take production where the rappers perform their lyrics on a dimly lit stage.
