Lilo & Stitch 2025 Soundtrack Reveals 8 Hit Songs Fans Will Love

The beloved animated movie Lilo & Stitch, originally released in 2002, is getting a modern makeover set for release in 2025. Interestingly, the soundtrack details have hinted at nods to the initial film. Much like the original, this updated version will maintain its Hawaiian setting and incorporate Elvis Presley’s rock and roll tunes. Furthermore, similar to the original, it will also include some fresh, original songs that have gained a cult following over the years. So, fans can expect the new Lilo & Stitch to retain the musical charm of its predecessor.

In the latest live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated films, the tale of “Lilo & Stitch” unfolds once more. The narrative closely mirrors the original story, centering around Lilo (played by Maia Kealoha), a solitary young girl. After taking in an alien named Stitch (voiceover by Chris Sanders) as a pet, she discovers the joys of friendship. This film, set for release on May 23, is helmed by director Dean Fleischer Camp and boasts an impressive cast that includes Hannah Waddingham, Sydney Agudong, Billy Magnussen, and Zach Galifianakis.

Lilo & Stitch Brings Back Classic Favorites

The early tracks from the Lilo & Stitch soundtrack hint that the movie is continuing the musical tribute started by its predecessor, which drew inspiration from numerous 60s and 70s hits. All Elvis Presley songs featured in the original animation are present here, but additions like “Uptown Funk” and Bruno Mars’ remake of “Burning Love” suggest a more contemporary feel for viewers.

It’s natural for fans to ponder if any tunes from the original Lilo & Stitch will be featured in the upcoming movie. The tracklist shows that cherished hits such as “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” by Alan Silvestri and Mark Keal’i Ho’omalu, and “Aloha ‘Oe” by Queen Lili’uokalani, are included in the film, ensuring the narrative remains steeped in the rich Hawaiian culture and ambiance.

Recently, Disney has been producing more live-action adaptations of its animated movies, yet not all have lived up to their original counterparts. But it looks like Lilo & Stitch could buck this trend, as early assessments of the live-action reboot seem largely favorable.

Concerns have arisen among fans regarding certain contentious alterations in the latest version of Lilo & Stitch, yet it appears that the music, at least, is being managed competently.
