Among the anticipated action films set for release in 2025, “From the World of John Wick: Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas, is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated titles. So far, fans have had multiple glimpses of this film, and their latest peek came during a virtual trailer event hosted by Lionsgate. I was part of the audience for this event, and I must say that it was the most exhilarating unveiling of new footage I’ve ever experienced. It’s hard to imagine if John Wick himself could have endured such a thrilling show!
For the eagerly awaited spectacle titled “Ballerina“, known as the Fire vs. Ice Launch, went live early Wednesday morning on X. A countdown clock preceded the action, and fortunate fans were selected to win a prize or “reward”. The main event commenced with a brief explanation from Ana de Armas, followed by the focus shifting to a dimly lit room featuring a monitor encircled by blocks of ice. Notably, an individual wielding a flamethrower, similar to that used by De Armas in the film, was also present.
The objective of the fan-driven event is for all ice blocks to be melted, unveiling the upcoming trailer. Fans aid in achieving this by continuously tapping the fire emoji at the designated time, boosting the flame gauge. Consequently, the character with a flamethrower can then burn through another layer. If you find this concept hard to believe, remember it’s a fact, and you can verify it by checking out the accompanying image below:
In addition to the excitement, there was an added motivation for spectators to participate in the celebration. Above the screen, a meter showed access to fresh rewards. As the character with the flamethrower drew nearer to breaking through the ice, fans found a new chance to win prizes such as Continental coins from the movie or autographed ice skates by the film’s main actress. The grand “reward” was a trip to London for the movie’s global debut, and fans had to compete for these prizes by typing in a specific term at the designated time.

Lionsgate deserves credit for coming up with a unique strategy for promoting their film. Frankly, the length of this particular event was quite extensive, spanning almost 50 minutes. Generally, trailer premieres don’t stretch out that much, even though they may not be as extravagant as this one. It’s possible that fans might have grown restless, and I suspect even Keanu Reeves’ character John Wick would share the same sentiment, given his quick-witted nature.
Despite everything, I’d bet that fans are still eagerly anticipating what the latest installment of the John Wick franchise delivers. The film titled Ballerina, positioned between the third and fourth films in the series, revolves around Ana de Armas’ character Eve Macarro, an assassin on a mission to avenge her father’s demise. This quest pits her against formidable adversaries, including the infamous Baba Yaga himself. Take a look at the new trailer below:
It’s exciting to watch Eve and John Wick together on screen, and their fight promises to be an impressive showdown. Fans will likely find solace in Keanu Reeves’ return for another installment of the “John Wick” series. The event where this new footage was revealed may not necessarily be a powerful marketing tool, but it’s certainly memorable.
The film “John Wick: Ballerina” debuts in cinemas on June 6, and I’m convinced it’s bound to be absolutely fantastic. (I couldn’t resist a bit of informal language.)
